Irish Soda Bread Scones

For Breakfast on St. Patrick's day, I made Irish Soda Bread Scones.

I have never had Irish Soda Bread before so I had no idea what it tastes like.  The scone style takes like a sweet biscuit!  It was actually very very yummy - and they turned our very pretty!

Take a look:
Yeah for trying something new :)

Tea of the Week!

Good Afternoon!!!

GREEN TEA TIME!

Yes, tea of the week is Green Tea - and I am sure there will be a number of other times when Green tea is the tea of the week because there are so many varieties!

This week , the Green Tea of the week is Trader Joe's Decaffeinated Green Tea - Simple, easy, and to the point!

I love how Green tea makes me feel - it makes me feel healthier for some reason!!

There is a quote on the Tea Bag wrapper I would like to share:

"There is no such trouble so great or grave that cannot be much diminished by a nice cup of tea."
- Bernard - Paul Heroux, 1900's Basque philosopher

This quote is so true!

Have a cup of tea today and relax!

Library Time!

Hi All!

What a weekend!  I had off on Friday and was busy all weekend so sorry for the lack of posts!  I can't wait to post about this past weekend later tonight!

Anywho, last Thursday I FINALLY finished Water for Elephants.  It was a good story.  Not really type of story really - it was VERY ADULT!  But, it was a good story nonetheless.   The pictures within the novel are from Baraboo, WI so it was pretty crazy to see those!  I would recommend it to anyone who likes those really romantic/suspenseful love stories.

Onto the next book!  I was going to read Too Close to the Falls, but Zachary returned it last week to the library.  So instead, I picked up Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and decided to start reading that since it is being made into a movie.  I started it today, and I am liking it so far!  We will have to see how it goes!

I will be going to the library tonight with Zachary to recheck out Too Close to the Falls - and hopefully some other ones as well!

Get ready for some major posts tonight about the past weekend with a Campillo Girls Day on Friday, Campillo St. Patrick's Day on Saturday, and all the treats I made for our last Saturday together before Sam, Amanda and the kids go back to Colorado!

Have a great Monday and Keep Reading!

Happy Pi Day!

Hello All Math-fanatics!

Happy Pi Day!  Yes it is 3.14 today.  That means in math terms it is, π day!

π = 3.1415926589793...

So π is approximately equal to 3.14!
In all my years of math classes, this day is a huge day in the math world.  Usually consisted of π worksheets and a real Pie at the end of class.

If I had someone to bake for tonight (Zachary is going to the Chicago Wolves game with his dad and brothers tonight), I would be making a pie of some sorts.

My favorite pie is a tie between pumpkin pie and raspberry pie!

What is your favorite pie?

Happy π Day!

Shake It Out, Shake it Out!

Happy Tuesday!

So I am into the new show called Smash...probably because I love Broadway - Did I mention Zachary and I are going to see "Book of Mormon" during Christmas time? So excited!

Anywho - last night on the show - Katherine McPhee sang "Shake it Out" by Florence + the Machine.  I love Florence - I love both of her albums - "Lungs" and "Ceremonials."  But "Shake it Out" is such a great song on the "Ceremonials" album.

I really suggest you go on iTunes and download it if you don't have it already!

Just wanted to share :)

Whoa!

Thé de la Semaine!

Bonjour!

This week's "Tea of the Week" is actually from Aveda - the spa company!  I am sure the majority of you have heard of Aveda skin and hair products.  Believe it or not - they sell "Comforting Tea" too!

Aveda comes from the word Ayurveda (pronounced eye-yer-vay-duh) which is the art of healthy living that enables you to create harmony in daily life by applying self-knowledge and self-care. The word, Ayurveda, is from the ancient Indian language, Sanskrit, and literally means "Knowledge of Life."

I ordered this online and was waiting till this week to try it!  It has a very unique flavor perfect for bed time.  Just when you think it is a Chamomile tea - there is the sweetest, smoothest taste at the end of the sip of tea!  I love it - it was a great surprise tasting that sweet part of the tea!

Click HERE to visit the website where you can purchase Aveda products along with the Comforting Tea!

Bonne Nuit!

A Cousin's Weekend!

Good Evening everyone!

This past weekend was another crazy fun filled family weekend- but on my side of the family.   My sister and I - sans Mom who had laryngitis - went to Menasha/Appleton area for my cousin Liz' shower and Bachelorette Party!

It was super fun and I got some really fun ideas if I ever have to host one of these :)

Here are a few pics from the shower and the night after the bridal shower:
At Liz's shower with family!
At Bachelorette Party in Appleton!
The other thing I have to show you is how my cousin Amy made JELLO shots.  Now, the last time I had a Jello shot I believe was in college and I remember how great they were - but how Amy made these was so creative!  I have to get the recipe - she made them in orange peels.  Take a look!

Congrats Liz and can't wait for August!
