Sorry guys - its been a crazy couple of weeks getting used to a new job - a new place - a new home...but all GREAT THINGS!!

I bet you all think I am leaving blogging by that title - not :)

I am actually talking about the numerous surprised I received the final week I was in Chicago.   When I left my Chicago office, I left some great friends and a great group of people!  We had a lot of fun the last week I was in my Chicago office - fun lunches, a surprise dinner, a surprise cake and going away party - here are just a few snapshots of what I was up to my last week at the Chicago office!  Thank you to all of them so much for a wonderful and amazing send-off!

The Brat Stop!

So I'm working a little backwards here - but needed to share a couple blog posts about celebrating a bittersweet end to our time in IL and our celebration of moving back home to WI.

On our way up Thursday night - we stopped for dinner at the brat stop for some cheese curds and well...brats!  The first time Zach ever went to WI was to the brat stop and that is the furthest he went - years before we met.  He vowed to himself he would not be back - well!  He is - and we had to make a stop at the brat stop to commemorate the move!  Take a look at the pics below!  So yummy!!!

Wisconsin Old Fashioned Cocktail

Happy end of April!

I grew up knowing what an old fashioned cocktail was but never had one...until I moved back to WI!  So one of the new things to do up here in WI is to have an old fashioned cocktail.  Mix a little bitters with sweetener and club soda and a little whiskey - add an orange and a cherry and you are good to go!

It's a nice little Sunday 5pm drink to calm the nerves before a work week.  My grandparents have had old fashioned cocktails for a long time now.  My grandpa is especially gifted at making a great old fashioned cocktail!

Canadian Club is the choice whiskey in the WI area!  

Yeah for a new cocktail!

The Moving is Done!!

Hey Everyone!

Long time no blog!  It was crazy the last few weeks in Illinois before our big move to WI.  But it has happened and we are just so excited!  The weather has been crazy awesome and we have grilled out every night since we got here!  I have so many pictures and posts to share with you - but here is a couple just for your enjoyment of Zach and I on our deck this past weekend grilling and hanging out!

Chicago Memories

Hello everyone!

We got a beautiful going away gift from Zach's aunt from a company called "A Happy Home Design."  Their facebook page is here.

It is a black wooden sign with white wording that has just some Chicago memories for Zach and I from our time in Chicagoland.

What a great find - it is really pretty and just going to be great in our home in WI.  It will bring back such great memories for us and also for Zachary (hence "Bears").  If you every need a gift - I would definitely check into this company.  The artist does a lot of different designs and lettering and everything is custom made.

I love painted wooden signs - anyone who knows me - knows that as well :)

Happy April and Happy Easter!

Hello All!  Happy belated Easter!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend last weekend!

Life has been busy for us here :)  Busy packing and busy working!!!

We had a nice Easter though - on Saturday we were up in WI for a surprise visit/purchase of a new car!!!!  2013 Buick Encore - It's amazing :)  After watching a sad loss for Marquette on Saturday afternoon, we started prepping for Easter!

Sunday, we went to church and made some great food throughout the day:

For Brunch we had ham, eggs, and toast.

For appetizers during the day we had prosciutto wrapped asparagus with a strawberry balsamic drizzle and also steamed artichokes with a lemon butter.  Take a look below.

For the main course, we had mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts and carrots, and this beautiful rib-eye roast. 

Last but not least, I made a beautiful dessert of a lemon cream cake with fresh raspberries!  The recipe is HERE. 

The food was just delicious!  We have another big food weekend coming this weekend because of my SIL's First Communion. 

Can't wait to hear about all your festive Easter activities!!!
