Poppyseed Bread - YUMMM!

This is one of the best recipes I have ever made for bread in general.  Let's get this correct though - it's poppyseed bread - not lemon poppyseed.  This breakfast treat has an amazing almond flavor to it!

My friend Katie made this bread this past March at our SNC Girl's weekend.  It is to die for :)

Here is the recipe:
POPPY SEED BREAD (MAKES 2 LOAVES)

Mix together:
3 c flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 c sugar
1 1/2 T poppy seeds

Combine:
1 1/2 c milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 tsp almond extract
3 eggs
1 c plus 1 T canola oil

Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until combined. Put into two greased loaf pans. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Check with toothpick to ensure it's done.

Leave in pan and cool.

When cool, prick top with meat thermometer to make "holes" and pour glaze on top. You may not use all of the glaze.

Glaze recipe: (combine all ingredients and melt in microwave)
2 T melted butter
1/4 c orange juice
3/4 c sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
Absolutely delicious!
